Since my last post I ended up with eye problems and having to have surgery. The good news is that if one does have bad eyes one truly sees the world differently to others. Essential for an artist! One uses more colour, and bits of rubbish on the road are now seen as glittering objects. I also went to Enmore TAFE last year to do an Illustration course. I will share some of the projects we were given and various responses. Four subjects wanted us to keep a daily sketch book! This was on top of the homework piled on top of us. B pencils were being bought by fistfuls to keep up with this demand. (in the end none of us could keep up and only one sketch book was really done. We had to pull in books from the past. In experimental Illustration we would be shown a technique and then had to create ten drawings using it around a theme. For example we were taken to Fairground Follies, spent an afternoon drawing the exhibits and then had to produce ten drawings and then turn two into lino prints.
